Description

Anti-slip plates / checkered plates Stainless steel anti-slip plates / checkered plates are primarily available in two types‌‌ One type is produced directly at the factory by subjecting stainless steel billets to a short-process smelting process, followed by single-pass hot continuous rolling to form the product in one go directly from the rolling mill, without any subsequent processing. Known as ‘original patterned plates’, these products feature a pattern where ‘one side is flat and the other is raised’, with the raised height generally ranging from 1.2 to 1.5 mm. As the pattern is formed integrally during the rolling process without any subsequent stamping or stretching, these plates offer superior load-bearing capacity whilst combining excellent anti-slip properties with corrosion resistance. Another type consists of anti-slip sheets produced by mechanically stamping or using dies to emboss a raised and recessed pattern onto hot-rolled or cold-rolled stainless steel base sheets sourced from steel mills; these are known as ‘embossed sheets’. The pattern on these products is ‘concave on one side and convex on the other’, and their anti-slip effectiveness and surface flatness are inferior to those of factory-rolled patterned sheets. Both types of patterned plates described above are suitable for further processing, including cutting to size, bending, punching and welding.

How do you choose between embossed panels and original manufacturer-patterned panels?

It ultimately depends on your priority regarding the intended application: if you prioritise slip resistance and load-bearing capacity, choose original manufacturer-patterned panels; if you prioritise decorative appeal and value for money, choose embossed panels. ‌Scenarios for factory-patterned plates‌: Heavy-duty applications such as industrial platforms, ship decks and lorry floor panels, which require long-term load-bearing capacity and frequent slip resistance Workshop floors and stair treads in damp or oily environments, where the pattern must remain durable and wear-resistant over time without flaking off Public areas (such as underground passageways and footbridges) with high footfall and stringent slip-resistance and safety requirements.
